AromaTouch Technique: I highly recommend anyone with immune system issues or concern look into receive an Aroma Touch Technique. This clinical approach to essential oil application was developed by Dr. David k. Hill as an simple, effective, and pleasant way to enjoy healing from the essential oils. It adresses the four constants that Dr. Hill believes can be directly underlying many of our health issues: Stress Management, Toxic Insulant / Immune Support, Chronic Inflammation, and Autonomic Balance. This week in Portland, OR we are hosting a FREE demonstration of the ATT. Tuesday, Oct. 11th at 7pm. If you would like to attend please email guidedbygaia (at) gmail (dot) com
Herbal Tinctures – for extra power I add some herbal remedies to my dearly loved essential oils. Susun Weed is my favorite herbalist alongside my friend Neva.
“Echinacea root is the all-American immune system strengthener. It triggers production of white blood cells, interferon, leukocytes, T-cells, and B-lymphocytes, as well as directly inhibiting the growth of most bacteria and viruses. Peter Holmes, author of Energetics of Western Herbs, cites it as being effective against anthrax. Echinacea tincture is my first choice for countering infection. (Capsules and pills of Echinacea, if used for lengthy periods, may be counter-productive.) A dose of the tincture is one drop for every pound of body weight. I take this several times a week as a preventative; several times daily when there is active infection.” -Susun Weed
Nourish Your Body: We often forget the best medicine can be a hot home cooked meal filled with love. Eat lots of organic veggies and foods high in vitamin C. Exercise, meditate, and laugh often. Love your body and thank it for taking such good care of you!
Cleanse the Air – Diffusing essential oils kills airborne pathogens. Lemongrass is the most effective, but I like to diffuse OnGuard, White Fir, Lime, Wild Orange and many others. During cold and flu season my diffuser is running almost 24/7. Aromatools.com sells many different types of diffusers for every budget.
An in vitro study on the inhibition of MRSA by essential oil diffusion found that 72 of 91 investigated essential oils exhibited zones of inhibition in soy agar plates streaked with MRSA (strain ATCC 700699). The most effective being lemongrass oil (Cymbopogon flexuosus), lemon myrtle oil (Backhousia citriodora), mountain savory oil (Satureja montana), cinnamonoil (Cinnamomum verum), and melissa oil (Melissa officinalis) essential oils. Of these, lemongrass essential oil was the most effective, completely inhibiting all MRSA colony growth.[49]
